Top Gun Flight School

At iParaglide Top Gun Flight School, we take pride in having taught over 1900 paragliding students in our 26 years of operation.

We are the the longest running school based in Metro Vancouver. Due to our central location, we are the only school that flies all of the relevant kiting parks, training hills and mountains within a 3 hour radius of Vancouver.  This empowers pilots to get to know the key training and flying spots early, optimizes and accelerates learning, and allows them to grow into great future pilots.  

We have the reputation of being an industry leader with an emphasis on engineered safety systems, quality instruction, the finest equipment and a positive learning environment for fun and empowering flying.

We offer the highest level of accreditation, with Senior HPAC and Advanced USHPA paragliding instructors, who coach from first flight to expert paraglider pilots and teach and qualify new paragliding instructors.

Paragliding Weather Forecast for the Vancouver, Chilliwack, Bellingham, Seattle, Whistler & Pemberton area, based on data available at 0800.

High pressure at sea level with low pressure aloft with high attitude clouds to mixed skies throughout Vancouver, Chilliwack & Pemberton.

High pressure with mostly sunny skies in Belligham Seattle.  

YVR 3000 ft winds aloft light and variable.  Chilliwack valley wind becoming SW 20 km/hr by mid afternoon.

SEA 3000 ft winds aloft light and variable. Valley winds becoming W to 10 km/hr.

2. Paragliding Bellingham: -2.6C/1000ft Intermediate peak lapse rate. Blanchard for P2 pilots 0900-1400. and 1600-2000 with P3 conditions at peak 1400-1600. Chances to paraglide 90%. 

3. Paragliding Vancouver: -3.1C/1000ft Advanced peak lapse rate.  Great day for Grouse with nice lapse rate! Grouse for GMFT 1000-2000 for P3 to P4 pilots. Chances for paragliding 90%.

4. Paragliding Chilliwack: -2.9C/1000ft Advanced peak lapse rate.  Woodside for P2 pilots 0800-1200 and 1800-2100 with increasing wind and lapse rate and P4 conditions at peak 1200-1800. Bridal for P2 pilots 1100-1400 and 1800-2000 with P4 conditions at peak 1400-1800.  Paragliding chances 90%. 

5. Paragliding Pemberton: -3.6C/1000ft XXX peak lapse rate.  Mt. Mckenzie with P2 conditions 0900-1200 then P4 conditions 1200-1900.  

6. Paragliding Whistler: -4.0C/1000ft do not fly peak lapse rate.  Paragliding not recommended.

Paragliding Weather Forecast for the Vancouver, Chilliwack, Bellingham, Seattle, Whistler & Pemberton area, based on data available at 0500.

High pressure at sea level with low pressure aloft with mixed skies in Vancouver>Chilliwack valley and 30%POP with risk of thunderstorm in Squamish>Whistler>Pemberton valley.  

Seattle with high pressure throughout and sunny skies. 

YVR 3000 ft winds aloft E to 15 km/hr becoming SE 11km/hr. Valley winds in Vancouver with SE outflow to 25 km/hr.  Chilliwack valley wind becoming SW 20 gusting to 40 km/hr by 1300. 

SEA 3000 ft winds aloft S to 9 km/hr becoming light and variable. Valley winds becoming W to 10 km/hr.

1. Paragliding Seattle: -2.8C/1000ft Advanced peak lapse rate.  Good day for Tiger for P2 pilots 0800-1300 and 1800-2100 with P4 conditions at peak 1300-1800. Chances for paragliding 90%.

4. Paragliding Chilliwack: -2.6C/1000ft Intermediate peak lapse rate. Chillwack calling for West wind 20 gusting to 40 km/hr by early afternoon.  Watch for strong arrival of sea-breeze early and then blown out conditions.  Woodside for P3 to P4 pilots 1000-1200 and then watch for blown out conditions. Bridal for P3 to P4 pilots 1100-1300 then watch for blown out conditions.  Paragliding chances 50% early, paragliding not recommended in afternoon.

5. Paragliding Pemberton: -3.4C/1000ft XXX peak lapse rate. 30% POP with risk of thunderstorm combined with arrival of Whistler Express S wind 20 km/hr early.  Paragliding not recommended. 

6. Paragliding Whistler: -3.8C/1000ft do not fly peak lapse rate. 30% POP with risk of thunderstorm combined with arrival of Whistler Express S wind 20 km/hr early.  Paragliding not recommended.

High pressure with sunny skies throughout. 

YVR 3000 ft winds aloft S to 15 km/hr becoming light and variable. Valley winds early light E outflow to 15km/hr becoming S to 10km/hr.  Chilliwack valley wind becoming SE to 20 km/hr by 1400. 

SEA 3000 ft winds aloft SW to 22 km/hr becoming light and variable. Valley winds becoming S to 10 km/hr.

1. Paragliding Vancouver: -3.1C/1000ft Advanced peak lapse rate.  Great day for Grouse with nice lapse rate! Grouse for GMFT 1000-2000 for P3 pilots. Chances for paragliding 90%.

6. Paragliding Whistler: -3.5C/1000ft XXX peak lapse rate. Whistler P4 team pilots choose to fly or not accordingly.

Paragliding Weather Forecast for the Vancouver, Chilliwack, Bellingham, Seattle, Whistler & Pemberton area, based on data available at 0500.

High pressure with jet stream overhead and pre-frontal in Vancouver-Chilliwack-Pemberton areas. 

No jet-stream overhead in Seattle-Bellingham.  

YVR 3000 ft winds aloft N to 9 km/hr becoming SE to 17 km/hr.  Valley winds in Vancouver E outflow to 30 km/hr becoming W to 10km/hr. Valley winds in Chilliwack early SW inflow to 5 km/hr increasing to 30 km/hr by noon. 

SEA 3000 ft winds aloft N to 9 km/hr becoming light and variable.  Valley winds becoming W to 10 km/hr. 

iParaglide Right Site Ranking:

1. Paragliding Seattle: -2.4C/1000ft Intermediate peak lapse rate.  Tiger for P2 pilots 0800-1400 and 1800-2100 with P3 conditions at peak 1400-1800. Chances for paragliding 90%. 

2. Paragliding Bellingham: -1.9C/1000ft Novice peak lapse rate. Blanchard for P2 pilots 0900-1900. Chances to paraglide 90%. 

Jet stream is overhead in Vancouver-Chilliwack-Pemberton area combined with pre-frontal conditions is causing instability and potential for very strong and sudden increase in ground wind speeds. PILOTS ADVISORY: DO NOT FLY.
