Top Gun Flight School

At iParaglide Top Gun Flight School, we take pride in having taught over 1900 paragliding students in our 26 years of operation.

We are the the longest running school based in Metro Vancouver. Due to our central location, we are the only school that flies all of the relevant kiting parks, training hills and mountains within a 3 hour radius of Vancouver.  This empowers pilots to get to know the key training and flying spots early, optimizes and accelerates learning, and allows them to grow into great future pilots.  

We have the reputation of being an industry leader with an emphasis on engineered safety systems, quality instruction, the finest equipment and a positive learning environment for fun and empowering flying.

We offer the highest level of accreditation, with Senior HPAC and Advanced USHPA paragliding instructors, who coach from first flight to expert paraglider pilots and teach and qualify new paragliding instructors.

YVR Winds at 3000 ft - 02:00-11:00, 300@25km/hr@13C: P4 Advanced.  11:00-22:00, 290@23 km/hr: P4 advanced.

Grouse may work but watch for cross west wind.

Lapse rate: 17C/6000ft: 2.8: P4 Advanced.

Chilliwack: Sunny peaking to 28C!

Pemberton: Sunny peaking to 24C.

Bellingham: Sunny peaking to 21C.

Seattle Winds Aloft: 13:00-22:00, 010@23 km/hr: P3 Intermediate. 

Chilliwack Valley: Fly Woodside, Bridal, Deroche.

Pemberton Valley: Fly Mackenzie, Upper Mackenzie

Low pressure NE of Vancouver, continues to bring problematic weather.

Winds at sea level 280@25km/hr@17:00: Advanced.

YVR Winds aloft @3000ft@310@28km/hr@14:00-23:00: Advanced.

Lapse rate 14C/6000ft = 2.3: Novice.

Cloud base @2000ft, just at summit of Woodside, Bridal in cloud most of the day.

60% POP for Chilliwack.

Not the best day for paragliding.

Two low pressure systems, NW and NE of Vancouver, continue to bring problematic weather. 

Winds at sea level: peak to 270@20 km/hr@16:00. Intermediate. 

Winds aloft: light and variable@ 3000 ft; 300@26km/hr@6000ft, 21:00-06:00Z.

Lapse rate 13C/6000ft = 2.2C/1000ft.  Novice lapse rate. 

Cloudy with sunny periods, changing to increasing cloud, and showers, as the day progresses.

Bridal falls in clouds majority of the day.  

Not the best day for paragliding.
