At iParaglide Top Gun Flight School, we take pride in having taught over 2,000 paragliding students in our 27 years of operation.

 

We are the longest running school based in Metro Vancouver. Due to our central location, we are the only school that flies all of the relevant kiting parks, training hills and mountains within a 3 hour radius of Vancouver.  This empowers pilots to get to know the key training and flying spots early, optimizes and accelerates learning, and allows them to grow into great future pilots.  

We have the reputation of being an industry leader with an emphasis on engineered safety systems, quality instruction, the finest equipment and creating a positive learning environment for fun and empowering flying.

We offer the highest level of accreditation, with Senior HPAC and Advanced USHPA paragliding instructors, who coach from first flight to expert paraglider pilots and teach and qualify new paragliding instructors.

Local Paragliding Season with Safe Weather for Beginner Pilot Training is April to September.  

We run a quality school by keeping group sizes small to maximize learning opportunities.  

Our courses tend to be mostly booked by mid-season. 

 

We are currently accepting bookings for our 2025 Paragliding Season starting April 1, 2025.  

We recommend booking well in advance for the 2025 season, if you want to secure a 2025 spot in our Top Gun Flight School.

 

For your paragliding enjoyment and safety: 

  • we require pilots to be within a specific height and weight range and book the right size paraglider accordingly; 
  • we require a specific standard of health & athleticism to meet Pilot Health & Safety Standards; 
  • we must patiently wait for and select only the most ideal beginner paragliding wind & weather conditions.

We require info to help us serve you better. For each new prospective pilot, please provide in the "Message" field below your Student Bio in numbered responses 1-11:

 

  1. Subject: Course of interest selection: Slope Soaring, iP1 Solo, iP1.5 Student, iP2 Pilot, iP3 Intermediate, iP4 Advanced, iP5 Instructor, Gear Check Seminar, Reserve Seminar, SIV, Tandem.
  2. Requested course start date. Beginner courses generally start early on Saturday mornings. Other start dates are possible on special arrangement and higher level courses run all week. Paragliding season for student level pilots runs April 1 to September 30. To allow for bad weather/wind weekends please double up on your request.  Slope Soaring is one Sat morning (request 2 Sat mornings); iP1 Solo is one Sat & Sun all day (request 2 weekends); iP1.5 Student is two Sat & Sun (request 4 weekends); iP2 Pilot is four Sat & Sun (request 8 weekends).  iP2 Top Gun is 9 successive days throughout the week. iP1.5 Student and iP2 Pilot courses with Fridays and Mondays generally available. Choose from the following 2025 course start dates: April 19/20, 26/27.  May 3/4, 10/11, 17/18, 24/25, 31.  June 1, 7/8, 14/15, 21/22, 28/29.  July 5/6, 12/13, 19/20, 26/27. August 2/3, 9/10, 16/17, 23/24, 30/31. September 6/7, 13/14, 20/21, 27/28.  iP2 Top Gun Zeta June 28 - July 6.  iP2 Top Gun Omega August 2 -  August 10.

  9. Athleticism for Launch. Can you sprint to 20km/hr down a hill to achieve take-off speed? 
  10. Athleticism for Landing. Thought Experiment: we won't actually do this, but would simulate a landing scenario. If you were facing the tailgate in the back of a pickup truck that someone was driving 10 km/hr, in reverse, could you jump out, and run the landing out successfully, without tripping or injury? 
  11. Sports. What sports do you participate in? 

 

We will review your Student Bio 1-11, confirm if you meet Pilot Health & Safety Standards, and if so, email a detailed TENTATIVE booking information package with available dates, holding a spot for 24 hrs. Once you verify your booking by reply to that email, and complete payment via eTransfer, or sending a copy of your third party payment voucher, we will send you a CONFIRMED booking & receipt.

Experienced Pilot Paragliding Equipment/Course/Tours Query

   

For your enjoyment and safety: we will only sell the appropriate paragliders, paragliding harnesses and paragliding reserves and or speedflying and speedriding equipment to properly trained, qualified & certified paragliding, speedflying and speedriding pilots. Similarly, we will only take you on a holiday tour, or do a course with you, if you have the right paragliding skill set and experience for the location and conditions.
